In the following, we inform you about the processing (among other things collection/recording and storage) of your personal data. This applies to the processing of your personal data when using our website (including sub-websites) and of the special processing situations which are listed below.

1. Processing of your personal data by using our website

If you use our website purely for information purposes, we only process personal data transmitted by your browser to our server. Especially:

  • IP-address, from which the access came, whereby we are anonymizing it immediately by replacing the last 8 bits with a zero (e. g. 192.168.1.151 becomes 192.168.1.0)
  • the date and time of the visit of our websites (timestamp),
  • URL of the resource that was accessed (e. g. „/home.html“) and access method (e. g. GET or PUT) as well as log-data (e. g. "HTTP/1.1"),
  • the status code of the access (e. g. 200 on a successful submission of a page or 404, if a page was not present on the server),
  • the amount of data transferred during the process in bytes,
  • the so-called referrer (this is the URL of the referring page), if it has been transmitted (this information is transmitted by the browser in the sense if the call was made via a link),
  • Information about the browser used if they were transmitted with the access (e. g. „Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/5.0; Trident/5.0)“).

This is done in order to enable the viewing of our website as well as to ensure the stability and security of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

All accesses of a day are stored in a log file. Log files are deleted after 14 days. We need this information to solve problems with our website (e. g. increased load times of the website, reported malfunctions, invalid references etc.). In addition, the log files help us to identify and ward off attacks on this part of our infrastructure (e. g. DoS-attacks, etc.). A passing on to third parties or other users of the log files does not take place.

1.1. Links to other websites

The practices set out in this data privacy policy apply only to this website and other specific situations. Other sites operated by third parties may be subject to other practices. Therefore, if you follow or visit any links from third parties websites, please check the privacy policy statements on these sites. We have no control over such websites and we have no responsibility or liability for the practices pursued by third parties.

1.2. Google Analytics / Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

We have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize our website. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The use includes the operating mode "Universal Analytics". This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID, thus analyzing the activities of a user across devices. Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, in the event of activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. For these cases, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, based on the European Commission's Appropriateness Decision, in order to make it lawful to send it to the United States. You can get the certificate here. Other recipients can be found in the privacy policy of Google. We point out that on this website, as mentioned above, Google Analytics has been extended by an IP anonymization to ensure an anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). The IP address provided by Google Analytics as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. For more information about Terms of Use and Privacy, please see https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html or https://policies.google.com/?hl=en.

The data sent by us and linked to cookies, user IDs (e. g. user ID) or advertising IDs will be automatically deleted after 14 months. The deletion of data whose retention period has been reached is done automatically once a month.

You can prevent the collection of the data (including your IP address) generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website from Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on.

Opt-out cookies prevent future collection of your data when you visit this website. To prevent Universal Analytics tracking across devices, you must opt-out on all systems you use. If you click here, the opt-out cookie will be set: Disable Google Analytics for this website.

2. Special processing situation: Contact form

If you fill out our contact form to receive detailed information and all other inquiries, we will process the following personal data about you: name, e-mail address and, if necessary, the message content. We need this personal information to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A further processing of your personal data does not take place. Likewise, no use of your personal data takes place for advertising purposes. As well as, not for other purposes.

3. Special processing situation: Performance of contract

The processing of all relevant personal data for performance of a contract takes place for entering into a contract, fulfillment of the contract and for the termination of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). The personal data processed by us for the performance of the contract will be stored until the expiry of the statutory provisions and thereafter deleted, unless we are obliged to a longer storage or you have consented to an additional storage (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

4. Special processing situation: Consent

In certain situations, we will obtain your consent to process your personal data (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You have the option to withdraw your consent at any time.

5. Special processing situation: Job applications

If you send us your job application for an advertised position, your application documents will be processed according to Art. 88 GDPR combined with S. 26 (1) Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). If you send an application photo, you do this voluntarily as well as by doing so you give us your consent to the collection and storage of your application photo (Art. 88 combined with S. 26 (2) BDSG).

We have a big interest in the brilliant performance and completion of a proper application process. This also includes the invalidation of opposing allegations of discrimination in connection with the completion of the application process, which is why a deletion of your application documents takes place 6 months after the rejection of job application. A longer storage of your application documents takes only place with your expressed consent. In the case of unsolicited applications, the deletion will take place within 12 months after receipt of your application documents, even without rejection.

6. Processor Contract

If we outsource the processing of personal data, we use specialized processors. Our processors are carefully selected and regularly monitored by us. They process personal data only on our behalf and strictly according to our instructions on the basis of corresponding contracts for a processing / data protection agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). For the processing of personal data, which we undertake on behalf of a data controller, we offer reasonable guarantees that we take appropriate technical and / or organizational measures so that the processing is in accordance with the legal provisions and the protection of the data subjects is maintained.

7. Transfer of personal data to third countries

If we transfer personal data to countries outside the EU that do not offer an equivalent level of data protection, we rely on an adequacy decision by the Commission (Article 45 GDPR) or appropriate guarantees (Article 46 GDPR) or on the exceptions for a third country transmission under Article 49 GDPR.
